B.O.B Tips

So, my husband and I both lost our jobs, cool right? (Not cool), But we still give God the glory and we modify our spending. I know many of you are thinking, how can you budget with little to no money. Well, we continue to pay tithes on what earnings we make. Fortunately, I had a part time job and that has helped us along the way until something else come along and my husband has finds odd jobs. (Thankfully we don't have kids yet. I would probably go crazy) I am a coupon fanatic. A few years ago, my cousin purchased $90 worth of groceries, for about $30, from using coupons. I was hooked and every since then, I began clipping away. Now, we've all seen those TV shows like extreme couponing, most of the time, it's ridiculous. Every now and then a "real person" comes along and use the coupons right; by serving others in need with the extra food and what-not's. Others buy things just becuase they are on sell. (Which is a huge waste of money). So I have come up with B.O.B. Tips- Budgeting on a Budget Tips. As they come to me, I will share them to you and hope you or someone you know can use the tips. One day, while checking my mailbox (in my apartments) I found a Clipper's Magazine filled with great coupons. One coupon that caught my eye was a Chick-fil-la (see attached picture) long story short, we have a junk mail bin and I noticed that my neighbors were tossing them away. So, away I go inside of the trash bin. (now, I only "dive in" if there is no visible soiled paper, again, it is only paper that goes in. If I see different, I'll sadly walk away.) This month, I was able to collect 8 papers! This means, 8 times my husband and I can eat a free breakfast! We bring our own drinks and have ourself a gay old time! So, B.O.B. Tip of the day-Go through your junk mail before you throw it out and if you live in an apartment, hopefully they have a junk mail bin, if they don't, ask for one!

Enjoy!

  3. So, after church my husband and I headed to Burger King for a quick meal. Most people that know me, know that I keep a "Car Coupon Folder" in my glove compartment. So, I looked to see what I had for B.K...sadly nothing. But I remembered that I had went there 2 days ago and still had the receipt. On the back of the receipt was a survery and once you complete it, they will give you a code to write on the reciept and you can get a FREE whopper or chicken sandwich, with the purchase of a value or small drink and free. So, in the parking lot, I pulled out my ipad and completed the survey. Instead of paying $6 for whopper value meal, I got it for $4.23! Go me, go me! So, B.O.B. Tip of the day, look on the back of your receipts, you could be throwing away free food!
